The topics are moving far more quickly than my ability to get back to writing. But the killing of abortion doctor George Tiller brings to light again the need for Christians to consider the foundations of their faith.

First, no one should justify (or rationalize) the murder of someone--even someone who has participated in the destruction of human life on a massive scale as Dr.Tiller did. Are we Americans trying to have our cake and eat it, too? We want a "woman's right to choose" without regard to the gruesome death of the innocent child she's agreeing to. We've legalized over 50 million such deaths in the last half century just in the USA, and it boggles my mind that it doesn't seem to matter. I'm no radical. I rarely speak out. I agree with Frank Schaeffer that we each should have to take responsibility for our words. And our deeds. Whether we're Bill O'Reilly, Dr. Tiller, Francis Schaeffer, or me. Sooner or later, we will all have to answer for every word and every deed. Mine will only pass muster by the grace of God.

What a marked difference between how Schaeffer and O'Reilly speak. Schaeffer emanates a calm sincerity. There is emotion there, but it is not at the fore, and so for me his message is stronger. I don't trust anyone who hammers me with attitude, assaults my senses so as to bypass my intelligence.
